About the Role
Acme Diagnostic Laboratories is a premier specialist test centre dedicated to delivering optimal health outcomes for our clients through reliable, timely, and accurate diagnostic testing. We are seeking a competent, dedicated, and responsible Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic diagnostic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing routine and specialized laboratory investigations efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards of quality, safety, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, receive, process, and appropriately store various patient specimens ensuring sample integrity.
- Perform comprehensive laboratory investigations across Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Parasitology, and Serology.
- Conduct accurate microscopy, culture, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing when required.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
- Execute rigorous quality control procedures to guarantee the absolute reliability of all test results.
- Review findings promptly, identifying critical values that require immediate verification or urgent clinical attention.
- Maintain immaculate patient records, laboratory worksheets, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory levels for reagents and consumables, ensuring uninterrupted laboratory operations.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention, biosafety protocols, and proper medical waste disposal guidelines.
- Collaborate professionally and confidentially with patients, clinicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare personnel.
- Possess a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS/B.MLS) or a recognized equivalent qualification.
- Must hold a valid professional practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Demonstrate strong practical laboratory, diagnostic, and advanced microscopy skills.
- Possess solid computer literacy with hands-on experience using electronic laboratory and patient-record systems.
- Showcase exceptional attention to detail, professional integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Prior working experience in a reputable private diagnostic laboratory will be a distinct advantage.
