About the Role
Lily Hospitals Limited, a leading multi-specialty private healthcare provider established in 1984, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee the clinical, managerial, and governance aspects of our ophthalmology department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional clinical leadership and deliver specialized eye care and expert ophthalmic advice to patients.
- Examine eyes, prescribe and renew glasses if necessary, and advise patients on optimal lens and frame selections.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding scheduled surgeries, comprehensive follow-up care, and diagnostic tests.
- Educate and counsel patients on proper contact lens care, visual hygiene, appropriate lighting arrangements, and workplace safety factors.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate delivery of eyewear products to customers according to established hospital guidelines.
- Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and safety of all department equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records of unit consumables.
- Listen and respond immediately with a high level of empathy and professional concern to all customer service issues.
- Minimum academic qualification of a Fellowship degree from either the West African College of Surgeons or the National Postgraduate Medical College.
- Between 3 to 5 years of relevant clinical work experience within the healthcare sector.
- Valid membership of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).
- Active membership in the Ophthalmology Society of Nigeria (OSN) at both local and national levels.
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications for daily administrative and clinical reporting.
- Outstanding oral and written communication, interpersonal, and team management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
