About the Role
University of Ilesa (UNILESA) Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In this pivotal role, you will lead maternal and child health initiatives, deliver expert clinical care, and contribute to the academic and research development of future medical professionals within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist clinical care and consultations in obstetrics and gynaecology to patients at the teaching hospital.
- Perform complex surgical procedures, manage high-risk pregnancies, and oversee emergency obstetric care.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical students, and other healthcare personnel.
- Participate actively in departmental clinical meetings, mortality reviews, and morbidity audits.
- Conduct impactful clinical research and contribute to the academic output of the university.
- Ensure compliance with national healthcare standards and hospital protocols.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Hold a postgraduate fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (e.g., FWACS, FMCPath, or equivalent professional qualifications).
- Current valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research within a tertiary healthcare setting.
