About the Role
ECWA Hospital, Egbe is a renowned 110-bed rural teaching hospital located in Kogi State, Nigeria, committed to delivering comprehensive healthcare services to our community. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Ophthalmic Nurse to join our dedicated eye care team. In this vital role, you will help restore vision and improve the quality of life for patients across our region while working in a supportive, faith-based mission hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients visiting the Eye Care Center.
- Assist ophthalmologists and other medical staff during clinical procedures and surgeries.
- Administer eye drops, medications, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families on proper eye care, post-operative recovery, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate patient records and monitor vital signs throughout the care continuum.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and compassionate patient-care environment.
- Participate in community outreach programs and mentor junior nursing staff.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a recognized qualification in General Nursing.
- Post-Basic qualification in Ophthalmic Nursing or equivalent specialization.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably within a mission or rural hospital setting.
- Demonstrated strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of empathy, integrity, and commitment to compassionate patient care.
