About the Role
The University of Ilesa (UNILESA) Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State Government, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Consultant in Community Medicine. In this vital role, you will spearhead community health programs, provide strategic direction for public health interventions, and contribute to the clinical training of medical students and resident doctors. Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and evaluate community health programs and preventive medicine initiatives.
- Provide expert clinical consultations and oversee public health services within the hospital and designated rural and urban communities.
- Supervise, mentor, and train medical students, resident doctors, and other allied health professionals.
- Conduct impactful epidemiological research and collaborate with government and non-governmental health agencies.
- Advise hospital management on health policies, disease surveillance, and epidemic preparedness.
- Possession of a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPH) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACP) in Community Medicine, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
- Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in public health and a strong track record of medical research and academic publications.
