University of Ilesa - UNILESA Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Consultant in Anaesthesia. Key Responsibilities- Provide expert anaesthetic care for patients undergoing various surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage critical care units, postoperative recovery, and acute or chronic pain management services.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical officers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in departmental research, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams to formulate and implement best-practice clinical protocols.
- Participate in emergency response duties, administrative tasks, and community outreach programs as required by the hospital management.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPath/FMCA) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACS/FWACP) in Anaesthesia, or an equivalent recognized foreign postgraduate qualification.
- Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in anaesthesiology and critical care within a reputable medical facility.
