University of Ilesa - UNILESA Teaching Hospital is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Consultant to lead our Accident and Emergency department. Formed through the strategic upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, our institution is committed to providing top-tier medical education, research, and patient care in Nigeria. We are looking for an experienced medical professional who can excel in high-pressure environments, manage acute trauma cases, and provide exemplary leadership to our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical diagnosis and emergency treatment to patients in the Accident and Emergency unit.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior doctors, resident physicians, and medical students.
- Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous clinical protocols and safety standards within the emergency department.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and comprehensive care.
- Manage critical cases, trauma resuscitations, and coordinate emergency responses efficiently.
- Participate in hospital administrative duties, clinical audits, and continuous medical education programs.
- Must possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPath, FMCS, or equivalent) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACP, FWACS).
- Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Accident and Emergency medicine.
