About the Role
University of Ilesa (UNILESA) Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Consultant specializing in Anatomic and Molecular Pathology. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to shape diagnostic pathology services, contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and advance healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert diagnostic pathology services including surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology.
- Perform advanced molecular pathology assays and interpret complex diagnostic results.
- Supervise, train, and mentor resident doctors, medical students, and laboratory scientists.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary clinical meetings and hospital committees.
- Conduct clinical and translational research to advance medical science and patient care standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality assurance and safety protocols in the pathology laboratory.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPath) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACP) in Pathology, or an equivalent recognized international qualification.
- Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated experience in Anatomic and Molecular Pathology clinical practice.
