University of Ilesa - UNILESA Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Consultant for our Accident and Emergency department. Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical evaluation, diagnosis, and immediate management of patients presenting to the Accident and Emergency department.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical officers, nursing staff, and medical students.
- Develop and implement emergency care protocols to ensure rapid and effective patient throughput and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary hospital teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and timely admissions.
- Participate in departmental research, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development programs.
- Manage emergency department resources efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCG) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACP) in Emergency Medicine or a related clinical specialty.
- Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in managing high-volume emergency and trauma cases.
