We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Mechanical Services (Vessel Cleaning Lead Technician) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee vessel cleaning and associated mechanical activities, ensuring all operations meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety within challenging industrial environments such as refineries, petrochemical plants, and offshore facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise vessel cleaning and mechanical preparation activities in accordance with approved procedures and schedules.
- Verify Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined-space entry requirements before operations commence.
- Supervise the removal of sludge, scale, hydrocarbons, and other contaminants using high-pressure water jetting and mechanical techniques.
- Coordinate with operations, QA/QC, inspection, and HSE teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, monitor exclusion zones, and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and supervision to technicians, contractors, and junior cleaning crews.
- OND, HND, or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Plant Maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Significant hands-on experience in vessel, tank, and industrial cleaning within the oil and gas or process industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in confined-space entry, gas testing, isolation/LOTO protocols, and hazardous-material handling.
- Proven ability to supervise field crews, interpret mechanical drawings, and manage waste disposal processes.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills suited for demanding turnaround and shutdown environments.
