About the Role
Scruples Resources is actively recruiting a qualified Mechanical Services (Hydrotesting) Lead to oversee critical pressure-testing operations for piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and tanks. In this vital role, you will ensure all mechanical completion and hydrotesting activities meet rigorous quality, schedule, and safety standards within the Nigerian energy sector.
Key Responsibilities- Lead hydrotesting activities for piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and tanks in compliance with approved procedures and international codes.
- Develop and execute comprehensive hydrotest plans, procedures, and test packages including P&IDs and isometrics.
- Supervise system preparation, flushing, filling, pressurization, testing, depressurization, and reinstatement.
- Conduct pre-test safety reviews, lead toolbox talks, and enforce Permit to Work (PTW), JSA, and LOTO protocols.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel, monitor test parameters, and manage the resolution of leaks, defects, and test failures.
- Maintain accurate documentation, manage test equipment calibration, and prepare daily progress and final reports.
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive hands-on experience in hydrotesting, piping construction, and commissioning within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ASME codes (B31.3, B31.4, B31.8) and pressure-testing safety controls.
- Proven ability to supervise contractors, multidisciplinary field teams, and maintain rigorous HSE standards.
