About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic power plant team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure our power generation and associated plant equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support our extensive manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise predictive, preventative, corrective, and overhaul maintenance of power plant electric generating, steam producing, and material handling equipment.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance on Gas Turbines and Associated Balance of Plant equipment adhering to industry best practices and safety requirements.
  • Ensure turbine swaps and 4000-hour running turbine inspections are executed accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Continuously review and improve maintenance processes, providing proper training and oversight to maintenance personnel.
  • Forecast manpower workloads, equipment needs, and budget requirements to optimize maintenance cost-effectiveness and plant availability.
  • Maintain compliance with NIS ISO 9001:2015, NIS ISO 14001:2015, and NIS ISO 18001:2007 standards and documentation.
  • Enforce strict occupational health, accident prevention, and safety procedures across all maintenance operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably with mechanical maintenance in a cement plant or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and gas turbine operations.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional time management, planning, scheduling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
