About the Role
Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a leading name in the Nigerian pharmaceutical industry, is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our ultra-modern manufacturing facility in Ikeja, Lagos. In this vital role, you will ensure the optimal performance of our production machinery and plant utilities while maintaining strict compliance with cGMP, NAFDAC, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and rapid troubleshooting for processing and packaging machinery, including granulators, tablet compression machines, and blister packagers.
- Oversee the maintenance of critical utility systems such as HVAC, boilers, generators, air compressors, and purified water distribution networks.
- Maintain audit-ready engineering logbooks, equipment maintenance history cards, and IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
- Enforce strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, pressure vessel safety, and factory floor health and safety regulations.
- Support engineering projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and spare parts inventory management.
- B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- COREN registration or NSE membership is an added advantage.
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, FMCG, or food processing environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial steam systems, AHUs, and high-speed packaging machinery.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&ID schematics, and ensure the use of pharma-grade materials.
