About the Role
Mikano International Limited, Nigeria's foremost power solution provider, is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing the performance of our industry-leading diesel and gas generator sets, ranging from 9kVA to 5000kVA.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complete overhauls and preventive maintenance of industrial diesel generator sets according to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical faults accurately and determine the root cause of complex engine problems.
- Dismantle engines and thoroughly inspect major components such as cylinder heads, pistons, crankshafts, and bearings for wear or defects.
- Inspect and replace worn parts including piston rings, liners, valves, seals, and gaskets to extend equipment service life.
- Carry out cylinder head servicing, valve grinding, valve clearance adjustments, and cooling system maintenance.
- Ensure full compliance with all internal health, safety, and environmental requirements during all maintenance procedures.
- Trade Test Certificate, technical qualification, or OND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience in carrying out complete overhauls of diesel generator engines.
- Deep technical knowledge of internal combustion engine components and measurement tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for mechanical detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing and assembly environment.
