About the Role

Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is seeking a dedicated and analytical MEAL Officer to join our dynamic team in the North East of Nigeria (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states). FOURCi is a non-profit organization driven by environmentalists, academics, agricultural experts, and community volunteers united to safeguard our climate and empower vulnerable communities. Our thematic focus areas include Climate Education and Advocacy, Livelihood and Climate-Smart Agriculture, Protection and Gender-Based Violence, Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). In this crucial role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems to track project performance, ensure data integrity, and drive continuous improvement across all our humanitarian and development interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive MEAL frameworks, tools, and methodologies for all project interventions across BAY states.
  • Monitor ongoing project activities, ensuring that data collection aligns with established indicators and donor requirements.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project locations in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe to monitor implementation progress and verify data quality.
  • Manage robust feedback and accountability mechanisms to ensure beneficiary voices are captured and addressed effectively.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing sessions among project teams to improve future programming and strategic decision-making.
  • Support baseline surveys, mid-term evaluations, and end-line assessments in collaboration with project managers and external evaluators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of professional experience in MEAL roles within the non-profit or humanitarian sector, preferably in Northeastern Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated experience with data collection software (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) and statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian standards, donor compliance, and logical framework approaches.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills with fluency in English and local languages spoken in the BAY states.
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise reports and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
