About the Role
Kainuwa Sustainable Development Foundations (KSDF) is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Technical Adviser to support the Honourable Commissioner for Health (HCH) and the Gombe State Delivery and Insights Unit (SDIU) stand-up lead. In this pivotal role, you will act as the principal technical and management adviser during the establishment and early operations of the SDIU, helping to strengthen health sector coordination, data utilization, and sustainable government-owned operating routines across underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities- Translate the approved SDIU architecture into practical operating arrangements, calendars, templates, and decision pathways.
- Support the HCH-led Top Management Team (TMT) in building focused agendas around critical health sector issues requiring leadership action.
- Facilitate the resolution of complex dependencies across primary healthcare, secondary care, health financing, commodities, human resources for health, planning, and data.
- Coach government counterparts and the TMT Secretary on structured problem-solving, review preparation, and action management to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Work closely with the Head of the Data and Insights Unit (DIU) to ensure TMT discussions are driven by validated evidence and actionable management insights.
- Establish rigorous performance indicators to track decision-making efficiency, issue resolution, and the progressive transfer of routines to government ownership.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively senior experience in public-sector health systems, government reform, strategy, delivery management, consulting, or international development programmes.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with senior government leadership and managing politically and institutionally sensitive cross-agency issues.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian health-sector institutions, state-level delivery systems, and institutional capacity building.
- Exceptional facilitation, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary team leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues concisely to senior executives.
