About the Role
RACHAM Empowerment and Humanitarian Foundation (REHF) is a faith-inspired non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering orphans, vulnerable children, and marginalized communities across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Matron to oversee the daily operations and welfare of our residential facility located at the Racham Orphanage Premises in Azhi-Bisa, Tafa LGA, Niger State. In this vital role, you will shape a nurturing, safe, and structured environment where children can thrive, heal, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the residential children's home to ensure a safe, clean, and structured environment.
- Supervise caregivers and residential staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance oversight.
- Oversee children's holistic welfare, including healthcare, personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, and emotional well-being.
- Enforce strict child safeguarding and protection policies across the facility.
- Foster a warm, disciplined, and faith-inspired atmosphere that promotes positive youth development.
- Maintain accurate records regarding inventory, health reports, and administrative tasks.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in residential childcare or social work.
- Proven background managing an orphanage or similar residential children's home.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child safeguarding, rights, and protection frameworks.
- Strong leadership, integrity, patience, and deep compassion for vulnerable youth.
- Willingness to reside and work within the orphanage environment in Tafa LGA, Niger State.
- Fluency in English with the ability to provide verifiable professional references.
