About the Role
Showers Christian High School, a fully accredited institution recognized by the Rivers State Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Education, and the British Council, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Maths Teacher. In this role, you will prepare students for prestigious local and international examinations, including WAEC, NECO, CIE Cambridge (Checkpoint, O, and A Levels), TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT. Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive Mathematics lessons aligned with Nigerian and British curricula.
- Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge O/A Levels.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to bridge learning gaps.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to develop departmental strategies and participate in school events.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and developmental milestones.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Mathematics, or a related field with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputable secondary school setting.
- Demonstrated experience and success in preparing students for Cambridge International Examinations and West African examinations.
- Strong pedagogical skills with a deep understanding of modern teaching methodologies and technology integration.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
