Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, equipment, and components against purchase orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough visual and dimensional checks to identify any defects, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Verify material test certificates, mill certificates, and other compliance documentation prior to site acceptance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records, log sheets, and non-conformance reports.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and quality control personnel to resolve material-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure all storage and handling procedures for materials meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Material Inspector within the Oil & Gas, construction, or heavy engineering sectors.
  • Relevant quality inspection certifications (e.g., CSWIP, NDT, API) will be a strong added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (ASTM, ASME, API, ISO).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
