About the Role
Myrtle Management Consultants is partnering with a leading client to recruit a dedicated Maritime/Field Security Liaison Officer in Lagos. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary focal point of contact between our client and their operations, coordinating field security plans and ensuring a safe, effective working environment. You will oversee security vessel field patrols and surveillance to safeguard offshore assets against unwanted intrusions, ensuring seamless daily operations in Nigeria's maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the protection of clients' offshore assets including cargo ships, tankers on Ship-To-Ship operations, and FPSOs using Patrol Boats (PBs).
- Monitor the Maritime Exclusion Zone (MEZ) to avert encroachments and coordinate joint command and control responsibilities.
- Manage radar, AIS, and radio monitoring in offshore fields, issuing timely warnings to encroaching vessels.
- Conduct safety, communication, and security equipment checks on-board PBs and ensure proper SOP compliance for all SITREPs sent to the Lagos TOC.
- Coordinate PB bunkering, crew welfare, and offshore movement plans while preparing detailed end-of-rotation reports.
- Serve as the client's management representative offshore, engaging in high-level maritime security discussions and intelligence reporting.
- A degree in a relevant field of study; post-graduate degrees or maritime-related disciplines are a strong advantage.
- Required certifications including BOSIET with HUET, ISPS, SSO, CSO, PFSO, First Aid, and HSE training.
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in the security or maritime industry, or a strong corporate background in incident and facility security.
- Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in report writing, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
