About the Role
Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited is recruiting a Marine Advisor I to oversee the safe and efficient turnaround of gas carriers and condensate tankers. You will manage critical contractors, including tug and port service providers, while ensuring compliance with international marine standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee vessel operations and manage turnaround activities for gas carriers and condensate tankers
- Provide safety and operational efficiency recommendations to enhance marine terminal performance
- Supervise and coordinate critical contractors including tug services, port operators, and safety vessels
- Implement and maintain Marine Terminal Management Self-Assessment (MTMSA) and Marine Terminal Operator Competence & Training (MTOCT) standards
- Conduct vessel inspections and perform Marine Quality Assurance (MQA) assessments
- Manage loading operations, personnel transfers, Permit to Work Systems (PTWS), and marine coordination duties
- Develop and review technical documentation, manuals, and operational procedures
- Lead contractor management using Operations Integrity (oi) 8-1 practices and SSHE protocols
- Prepare training materials and assessment packages for marine personnel
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and streamline operating practices
- Master Mariner's license (required)
- Proven experience as a senior officer in marine operations (required)
- Advanced knowledge of large tanker mooring operations and industry best practices
- Expertise in Operations Integrity Systems, specifically oi 8-1
- University degree in a relevant field (preferred)
- Strong commitment to safety culture and "Nobody Gets Hurt" principles
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Project management experience in marine terminal environments
