About the Role
Bridgemead Consulting, a holistic and innovative business consultancy connecting businesses with the right talent, is seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director for its mining operations. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director/CEO and the Board, the successful candidate will spearhead strategic growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to position our mining subsidiary as an industry leader across Nigeria and the wider West African market.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational plans aligned with overarching Group objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end mining operations encompassing exploration, extraction, processing, beneficiation, logistics, and commercial activities.
- Identify and secure new mining concessions, strategic partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
- Take full P&L accountability, managing budgets, financial performance, and capital projects.
- Lead high-level commercial negotiations for mineral sales, offtake agreements, and joint ventures.
- Ensure stringent compliance with Nigerian mining regulations, environmental standards, and HSE requirements.
- Build and mentor high-performing multidisciplinary teams fostering a robust safety and performance culture.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with regulators, host communities, government agencies, and investors.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional certification with COMEG, AusIMM, SAIMM, or an equivalent recognized body.
- Minimum of 15 years of industry experience, with 5 to 7 years in a senior executive leadership capacity.
- Extensive expertise in handling industrial or battery minerals such as lithium, dolomite, or limestone.
- Proven track record in P&L management, large-scale capital project delivery, and regulatory navigation within Nigeria.
