About the Role

Adexen is a leading global human resources and business services firm dedicated to matching top-tier talent with multinational companies operating across Africa. On behalf of our esteemed client in the logistics sector, we are currently seeking a visionary and results-driven Managing Director to lead operations in Nigeria. In this executive capacity, you will assume full P&L responsibility, steering business strategy, commercial expansion, and operational excellence with a core focus on road transport and contract logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the company strategy and comprehensive business plans for the Nigerian market.
  • Assume full financial accountability for P&L, budgets, profitability, cash flow, and working capital management.
  • Lead large-scale road transport and contract logistics operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Optimise fleet utilisation, cost per kilometre, maintenance expenditure, and asset lifecycle performance.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, securing strategic contracts, and expanding key customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with key clients, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a large, multicultural workforce of over 200 employees, fostering a strong culture of safety and high performance.
  • Champion digital transformation, operational innovation, and corporate governance standards across all business units.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years in supply chain management, with at least 8 years in senior executive or Managing Director roles.
  • Proven expertise in managing full commercial P&L within a multinational organisation.
  • Demonstrated direct operational experience in road transport and contract logistics within Sub-Saharan Africa, with strong Nigerian market knowledge.
  • Extensive background in fleet economics, asset management, and large fleet operations of 500 or more vehicles.
  • Exceptional leadership, financial acumen, stakeholder management, and strategic negotiation skills.
