About the Role
STAT MARINE, an established and client-focused organisation founded in 1983, is seeking a visionary Managing Director to lead our marine and engineering services operations in Nigeria. In this executive role, you will drive sustainable business growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation across our offshore and onshore projects, marine support, and inspection services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement short and long-term strategic objectives in alignment with Board directives to drive business growth in the marine and energy sectors.
- Provide executive oversight of all marine, offshore, and onshore engineering projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution.
- Optimize vessel utilization, fleet performance, and marine logistics while maintaining strict compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Lead business development initiatives, forge strategic partnerships, and negotiate major commercial contracts and tenders.
- Take overall responsibility for financial performance, annual budgeting, cash flow management, and profitability.
- Champion a robust Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) culture across all operational sites.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing management team, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation.
- Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors through comprehensive reporting on business performance and strategic risks.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or Engineering Management is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with substantial senior management tenure in the marine, offshore, oil and gas, or engineering sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in project execution, operational management, and commercial strategy within Nigeria or international markets.
- Relevant professional engineering registration, certifications, or industry memberships will be an added advantage.
