About the Role
Dangote Cement Plc, Africa's leading cement producer, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager, Mechanical L3&4 to oversee the maintenance and operational reliability of our heavy-duty mechanical systems. In this critical leadership role, you will direct the performance and continuous improvement of vital assets including crushers, mills, kilns, and conveyors to optimize plant productivity and minimize downtime across our manufacturing operations in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the mechanical maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair protocols for core heavy-duty mechanical systems.
- Design, implement, and monitor robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Analyze equipment performance data and spearhead root-cause failure analyses for effective corrective action.
- Coordinate plant shutdowns, major overhauls, and turnaround maintenance activities seamlessly.
- Ensure uncompromising compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory, departmental budgets, and resource allocation efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on cost reduction and mechanical efficiency.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior engineers and technical staff to build a high-performing team.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 18 years of relevant mechanical maintenance and operations experience within the cement or heavy process manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated success in a senior managerial or leadership role with exceptional team coordination abilities.
- Extensive technical expertise in heavy industrial mechanical systems, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.
