University Press PLC, Nigeria's foremost publisher of educational and general reading materials with a rich heritage dating back to 1949, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager (Audit) to join our esteemed finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the company's financial assets, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a publicly quoted corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive internal audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of financial and operational controls.
- Review financial records, ledgers, and transactions to detect and prevent discrepancies, fraud, or non-compliance.
- Assess risk management processes and recommend actionable improvements to executive management and the board.
- Prepare accurate, timely audit reports detailing findings and strategic recommendations for process optimization.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless statutory audits.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of audit team members to foster a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc. or HND) in Accounting with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division or Lower Credit.
- Mandatory possession of a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of robust experience in a finance, accounting, or audit role, with at least 2 years served in a managerial capacity.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an uncompromising eye for detail.
