Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Management Accountant to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive performance analysis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making and enhance overall business performance within a structured corporate environment in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes.
- Analyse financial performance, variances, costs, and key business drivers.
- Provide management with actionable financial insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure, cash flow, and implement effective cost control measures.
- Develop financial models, reports, and performance dashboards.
- Ensure accurate accounting records and timely month-end close processes.
- Review and continuously improve financial controls and internal accounting processes.
- Support pricing, investment, cost-saving, and other vital commercial decisions.
- Coordinate seamlessly with Finance, Operations, and other departments on financial matters.
- Support internal and external audits while ensuring strict compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor financial KPIs and identify lucrative opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff where applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Mandatory ICAN certification; ACCA or equivalent professional qualification will also be strongly considered.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, featuring significant management accounting exposure.
- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role is strictly required.
- Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
