About the Role

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Management Accountant to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive performance analysis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making and enhance overall business performance within a structured corporate environment in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes.
  • Analyse financial performance, variances, costs, and key business drivers.
  • Provide management with actionable financial insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditure, cash flow, and implement effective cost control measures.
  • Develop financial models, reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure accurate accounting records and timely month-end close processes.
  • Review and continuously improve financial controls and internal accounting processes.
  • Support pricing, investment, cost-saving, and other vital commercial decisions.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with Finance, Operations, and other departments on financial matters.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring strict compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor financial KPIs and identify lucrative opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff where applicable.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Mandatory ICAN certification; ACCA or equivalent professional qualification will also be strongly considered.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, featuring significant management accounting exposure.
  • Previous experience in a management or supervisory role is strictly required.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or ERP systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
