About the Role
Matrix International Academy, a leading private institution in Gombe State, Nigeria, is recruiting a dedicated Maintenance Officer (Electrician) to join our facilities management team. This role is essential to maintaining safe, functional, and well-equipped learning environments across our Nursery, Primary, and Secondary school facilities. As a key member of our support staff, you will contribute to our commitment to providing high-quality education by blending Nigerian and British national curricula.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment throughout the school premises
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and work schedules
- Respond to emergency electrical issues to minimize disruptions to school operations
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to support facility upkeep and infrastructure improvements
- Assist with planning and executing preventive maintenance programs
- Proven experience as an electrician or in electrical maintenance roles
- Valid electrical certification or relevant trade qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Computer literacy is advantageous
- Demonstrated integrity and good character
