About the Role
Prima Corporation Limited, the premier manufacturer of preforms and caps for the beverage industry in West Africa, is looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing plant. In this vital role, you will ensure maximum equipment availability and operational excellence by maintaining advanced machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, PLC, servo, and control system faults, with specific focus on Husky and SACMI machinery.
- Maintain and repair hot runner systems, temperature controllers, heaters, thermocouples, servo drives, and motors.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams for accurate fault diagnosis.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and electrical regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, downtime reports, and manage spare parts usage efficiently.
- Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of hands-on maintenance experience within the plastics manufacturing or injection molding industry.
- Demonstrated expertise working with Husky and SACMI injection molding systems and hot runner technology.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC systems, industrial automation, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments including multimeters, clamp meters, and megghers.
