About the Role
TAAS College, Ibadan, a prestigious co-educational institution established in the Islamic tradition, is seeking a competent, proactive, and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Officer to oversee the maintenance, safety, and functionality of the school's facilities and equipment. In this vital role, you will ensure our serene and modern campus provides an optimal learning environment for students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, offices, laboratories, and recreational areas.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all campus facilities are safe, highly functional, and well-maintained.
- Monitor and maintain electrical, plumbing, water supply, and other critical utility systems.
- Coordinate scheduled repairs, major renovations, and proactive preventive maintenance activities.
- Supervise internal artisans, technical staff, and external contractors to ensure quality service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, facility inspections, and inventory usage.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the school premises.
- Monitor facility-related expenses and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions to management.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance emergencies and operational issues.
- Support school management in planning and executing future facility improvement projects.
- Minimum of an HND, B.Sc., or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Technology, Estate Management, or a related discipline.
- Possess 4 to 7 years of proven, hands-on experience in maintenance and facilities management, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and supervisory skills to manage diverse technical teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in record-keeping, technical reporting, and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff, students, and contractors.
- Must reside in Ibadan or be fully willing to relocate to Ibadan before resumption.
