About the Role
Bell Oil & Gas is a leading wholly-owned Nigerian oil services company delivering high-quality products and services to the energy sector. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Machining and Welding Technician to join our dynamic operations team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our fabrication and assembly processes while maintaining our commitment to safety and quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Cut and prepare various materials for machining and welding operations.
- Operate multiple types of machinery and equipment within the welding department in accordance with approved quality standards.
- Execute complex welding projects and analyze engineering designs for specific welding requirements.
- Review welding procedures, processes, and documentation, while generating procedures to support assembly and welding teams.
- Conduct thorough failure and cause analyses on welding issues.
- Perform precision welding and fabrication of valve bodies, bonnets, and associated components.
- Carry out necessary valve modifications and machining repairs as instructed.
- Minimum of OND or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, or a related discipline.
- Trade Test, City and Guilds, or relevant welding and machining certifications will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial welding experience.
- Strong competency in SMAW (Arc), GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG) welding processes.
- Demonstrated experience operating manual lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines.
- Proven practical machining and welding experience on industrial valves and valve components.
- Ability to read and interpret measuring devices, technical drawings, and blueprints with high accuracy.
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, alongside computer literacy.
