About the Role
The M & W Nuts Company is a dynamic cashew processing agri-business established in 2016 to add value to Nigeria’s raw cashew export, serving both domestic and international markets. We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Machine Operator to join our state-of-the-art production facility in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in driving our daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that our processing lines run smoothly, safely, and efficiently to meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and oversee cashew processing machines and equipment to ensure a seamless and continuous production flow.
- Monitor machine performance and conduct routine inspections to detect issues, performing minor repairs as needed.
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of production equipment for optimal operational performance.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strictly adhere to safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure a secure working environment.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Record accurate production data, including machine performance, downtime, and output quality, reporting findings directly to the Production Manager.
- Train and mentor junior operators on machine operation, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free, and organized work area, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist in implementing continuous process improvements and optimizing overall production efficiency.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification; a technical certification in mechanical or industrial operations is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience operating production machinery, preferably within a food processing or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience operating boiler and packaging machines will be considered a significant plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-moving agricultural processing setting.
