About the Role
Sumal Foods Limited, a renowned leader in the fast-moving consumer goods industry and maker of trusted brands like Yale Foods and Vital Foods, is seeking a reliable and experienced Lorry Driver. In this role, you will play a vital part in our distribution network, ensuring our premium biscuits, confectioneries, and other food products safely reach our customers and neighboring export markets.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate company lorries to transport goods across designated routes within Nigeria.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, waybills, and receive customer signatures upon delivery.
- Report any mechanical faults, accidents, or delays immediately to the logistics supervisor.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and offloading of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent education.
- Valid Nigerian commercial driver's license with the appropriate lorry-driving endorsement.
- Proven professional driving experience of at least 3 to 5 years, preferably within the FMCG or logistics sector.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks and inter-state routes.
- Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages.
