About the Role
Sochi Foods Limited, a fast-moving consumer goods company specializing in agricultural processing and farming innovation in Ahiazu-Mbaise, Imo State, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Livestock Officer. In this full-time on-site role, you will play a pivotal part in managing our livestock operations, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, and optimizing productivity across all our units.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and analyze various livestock management practices to enhance farm productivity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production, breeding, medical treatment, and inventory records.
- Develop and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all livestock units.
- Advise management on livestock expansion projects, productivity improvements, and agricultural best practices.
- Research environmental conditions to determine their direct impact on the quality and quantity of animal products.
- Study the nutritional requirements of animals and evaluate the nutritive values of various feed materials to devise efficient feeding techniques.
- Identify early signs of diseases and health concerns to mitigate risks immediately and prevent mortality.
- Conduct continuous research on effective parasite and disease control methodologies.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Science, Farm Management, or a related agricultural field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in livestock management.
- In-depth understanding of the specific dynamics and best practices of goat farming.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
