About the Role
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. We are currently seeking a dynamic and committed Livelihood Officer to join our team in Nigeria to drive impactful economic recovery initiatives for displaced and vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, plan, and implement sustainable livelihoods projects in alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Conduct needs assessments, market analyses, and community consultations in collaboration with M&E teams to identify income-generating opportunities.
- Facilitate skills training, capacity-building workshops, and financial literacy programs for project beneficiaries.
- Monitor project progress, evaluate impact, manage budgets, and ensure timely submission of high-quality reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Promote Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), safeguarding standards, and community ownership across all project activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in livelihood programming, preferably within humanitarian or emergency settings in Northeast/Northwest Nigeria.
- Proficiency in English and local languages, specifically Hausa and Fulfude.
- Strong data management, report-writing, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure in multicultural environments.
