About the Role
Covenant Foundation Schools (CFS), Abuja is a reputable, private educational institution established in 2009 that provides a comprehensive, 21st-century standard curriculum across multiple academic levels. We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Literature in English Teacher to join our esteemed secondary school team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping young minds, fostering critical thinking, and instilling a lifelong love for reading and literary analysis in our students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality Literature in English lessons to secondary school students in accordance with the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Encourage vibrant classroom discussions, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students.
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, papers, and oral presentations constructively.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Mentor students and participate actively in co-curricular activities, school events, and departmental meetings.
- Uphold the school's core values of academic excellence, moral upstanding, diligence, and integrity.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Arts (B.A), or B.A. (Ed) in English Language, Literature in English, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputable secondary school environment.
- Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.
- Exceptional command of the English language with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teenagers.
