Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive Literature in English lessons to secondary school students in accordance with the Nigerian and West African educational curricula.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations including WASSCE, NECO, and BECE.
  • Foster a love for reading, critical thinking, and literary analysis through interactive classroom discussions and creative writing exercises.
  • Assess, grade, and provide constructive feedback on students' assignments, essays, and examinations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss academic development.
  • Participate actively in extracurricular activities, literary clubs, and school events to promote holistic student development.
  • Uphold the moral, ethical, and Christian values of the institution within and outside the classroom environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Literature in English, BA in English/Literature, or a related field with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputable secondary school environment.
  • Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire students and foster an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the high moral and academic standards of an Anglican mission school.
