About the Role
Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), a leading utility provider licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), is seeking a dedicated and resilient Lineman to join our dynamic operations team. In this critical role, you will help ensure reliable power distribution and support infrastructural expansion across Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe states, directly impacting communities and businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out the construction, routine maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution lines and associated equipment.
- Install, replace, and maintain utility poles, conductors, transformers, and related network assets safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to network faults, emergencies, and power outages as directed by field supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and industry best practices to ensure zero-harm operations.
- Support network rehabilitation and rural electrification expansion projects across our franchise states.
- Perform any other related technical duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Trade Test Certificate, Electrical Installation Certificate, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Previous hands-on experience working as a Lineman, Electrical Technician, or in a similar power sector role will be a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely at significant heights and in challenging weather and field conditions.
- Must be physically fit, highly resilient, and capable of enduring rigorous physical field activities.
- Good working knowledge of electrical safety procedures, hazard identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
