About the Role
Elevation Professionals, a reputable management consultancy and publishing firm registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join its growing team in Ipaja, Lagos. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional passionate about organizing information resources, supporting research needs, and maintaining an efficient and user-friendly library environment.
As a Librarian, you will play a vital role in managing the organization's library operations, cataloguing materials, and providing support to staff and clients who rely on accurate and accessible information resources. You will work closely with the management team to ensure the library remains a valuable asset to the organization's consultancy and publishing functions.
Key Responsibilities- Organize, catalogue, and classify books, journals, and other library materials for easy retrieval
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory, loans, and returns
- Assist staff and clients in locating information and research materials
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures to improve efficiency
- Monitor and manage the acquisition of new books, publications, and digital resources
- Ensure proper preservation and maintenance of library materials
- Maintain an organized and conducive library environment
- Prepare periodic reports on library usage and resource needs
- Support the publishing team with research and reference materials as needed
- Relevant qualification in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field
- Proven experience working in a library or similar information management role
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good knowledge of library cataloguing systems and digital archiving tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and library management software
