About the Role
Living Treasure Academy, a reputable private Christian primary and secondary educational institution located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is seeking a passionate and qualified Librarian to manage our academic resource center. In this role, you will play a vital part in cultivating a vibrant reading culture among our students while providing essential research and resource support to both staff and pupils in a faith-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Organize, classify, and maintain the school library's physical and digital collection of books, periodicals, and educational materials.
- Establish and enforce library policies, procedures, and circulation rules to ensure a quiet, conducive study environment.
- Guide students and teachers in locating, selecting, and effectively utilizing appropriate research materials and literature.
- Plan and promote engaging literacy programs, including reading clubs, book fairs, and storytelling sessions for primary and secondary students.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and recommend new book acquisitions to align with the school curriculum.
- Supervise students using the library and assist them with basic digital literacy and information retrieval skills.
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or National Diploma in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a librarian, preferably within a primary or secondary school setting.
- Strong passion for education and a genuine alignment with our Christian school values and ethos.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage students effectively.
