About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, with the mandate to improve the healthcare needs of Nigerians and increase manpower output in the sector. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy into a dynamic university comprising six faculties and seventeen departments, FUAHSE is committed to training innovative, skilled, and proactive professionals. We are currently seeking a dedicated and resourceful Librarian to oversee our academic library, curate extensive digital and physical collections, and provide exceptional information literacy support to our growing academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the university library, including cataloging, classification, and acquisition of academic materials.
- Develop, organize, and maintain both physical and digital resource collections tailored to allied health sciences and related disciplines.
- Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty members, and researchers.
- Implement modern library management systems and digital repository platforms to enhance accessibility.
- Conduct information literacy training sessions and workshops for students and staff.
- Collaborate with academic departments to ensure library holdings align with curriculum requirements and accreditation standards.
- Possession of a Bachelor or Master degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS or MLIS) or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant professional certification and active membership in the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
- Demonstrated competence, professional integrity, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven experience in a tertiary institution library or a similar academic environment is highly desirable.
- Good command of modern library software, digital archiving tools, and electronic resource management.
