We are currently seeking a dynamic, commercially astute, and bilingual French-speaking Legal Officer to join our professional team in providing robust legal advisory and operational support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely legal advice to management and business units on day-to-day commercial and operational activities.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage diverse commercial contracts, service agreements, and distribution leases.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian regulatory requirements, statutory bodies, and agricultural sector laws.
- Support litigation management, dispute resolution, and coordinate effectively with external solicitors.
- Deliver specialized French-English legal translations, contractual interpretations, and support cross-border engagements with Francophone stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with company operations, corporate governance, and strategic partnerships.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution with a valid BL qualification from the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant post-call corporate or commercial legal experience.
- Absolute fluency in both spoken and written French and English is strictly mandatory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and regulatory compliance within Nigeria.
- Strong analytical capabilities, high professional integrity, and robust commercial awareness tailored to the agricultural or FMCG sector.
