About the Role
Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, is a premier tertiary institution dedicated to producing qualified health professionals for primary healthcare services. We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and qualified professional to fill the role of Legal Officer to head our Legal Division and safeguard the institution's legal interests.
Key Responsibilities- Provide sound, proactive legal advice and guidance to the College Management and Governing Council on institutional, regulatory, and policy matters.
- Represent the institution in litigation and liaise effectively with external counsel and regulatory agencies.
- Draft, review, vet, and manage complex legal documents, contracts, agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and staff service regulations.
- Advise on regulatory matters concerning public procurement and contractual obligations.
- Handle labor and employment matters, including staff discipline, industrial relations, and representation before the National Industrial Court.
- Must possess a minimum of an LL.B Degree from a recognized University and a BL from the Nigerian Law School.
- Must be duly called to the Nigerian Bar with evidence of active practice and a current practicing certificate.
- A Master's Degree in Law (LL.M) will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years of cognate post-call experience, preferably within a tertiary institution or public sector administration.
- Demonstrated expertise in tertiary institution compliance (such as NBTE or NUC standards), labor relations, and dispute resolution.
