About the Role
Jomav Homes and Properties is a leading real estate company dedicated to providing first-class housing solutions for all classes of people in society, tackling housing challenges for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Officer to join our growing legal team and support our expanding property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate critical real estate documents including purchase and sale agreements, leases, and development contracts.
- Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian real estate laws, zoning laws, and environmental regulations while mitigating potential legal risks.
- Conduct thorough legal and factual due diligence for property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Manage regulatory filings, licenses, and permits with relevant government bodies and agencies.
- Provide expert legal advisory to management and operations teams on property law, transactions, and corporate governance.
- Handle pre-litigation matters, mediation, and coordinate external counsel for complex legal cases.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL); a Master's degree (LLM) is an added advantage.
- Proven professional experience in real estate law, property transactions, and corporate legal practice.
- Strong command of property law, tenancy laws, contract law, and corporate governance frameworks.
