About the Role

Tenece Professional Services Limited ('Tenece') is a multi-competency enterprise transformation and technology-consulting firm that combines expertise and capabilities across many industries and business functions to deliver superior value to its clients. We are currently looking for an experienced and strategic Team Lead, Legal to run our group legal team, deputize for the Head of Legal, and ensure every business in the group receives timely and practical legal support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including technology vendor arrangements, NDAs, service contracts, and government tenders in alignment with the Legal Contract Playbook and DOA Policy.
  • Manage corporate governance and company secretarial duties across group entities, ensuring statutory filings under CAMA 2020 and the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance 2018 are impeccably maintained.
  • Drive regulatory compliance frameworks covering data protection (NDPA 2023), AML, anti-bribery, and cross-border vendor payments in collaboration with finance and tax teams.
  • Advise HR on employment contracts, disciplinary matters, policies, and exits to ensure full compliance with the National Industrial Court standards.
  • Oversee dispute resolution strategies, manage pre-action correspondence, and supervise external counsel while strictly monitoring litigation budgets and exposure.
  • Lead, mentor, and prioritize the workload of the legal team while establishing robust turnaround times and maintaining accurate contract and litigation registers.

Qualifications
  • Master of Laws (LL.M) in commercial, corporate, or a related legal discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-call, in-house experience gained within a multi-sector, multi-country corporate group.
  • Active professional membership in ICSAN or CIArb, alongside relevant data protection certifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of Nigerian contract law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and cross-border investment rules.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in building legal processes, drafting playbooks, and presenting effectively to senior management and board members.
