About the Role
Petrok Engineering Services Limited is recruiting a Legal Counsel on behalf of its client in the energy sector. Located in Lagos, Nigeria, the successful candidate will deliver comprehensive legal support for oil and gas exploration and production operations. You will play a pivotal role in transaction structuring, high-stakes contract negotiations, financing, and regulatory compliance within the Nigerian energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal counsel on oil and gas exploration and production operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and transaction structures.
- Manage corporate litigation and coordinate with external legal representatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian regulatory frameworks and relevant international laws.
- Advise leadership on debt and equity financing, capital markets transactions, and corporate governance.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professional integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or Juris Doctor.
- Valid Nigerian Law School certification and active membership in the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience within an E&P oil and gas company or top-tier law firm.
- Deep expertise in Nigerian energy law, corporate compliance, and commercial negotiations.
- Familiarity with UK and US corporate legal frameworks is highly desirable.
