We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven Legal Associate to join our team in Calabar, Cross River State. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer eager to advance their career in corporate and commercial law, focusing heavily on non-litigation, transactional, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well-reasoned legal opinions and advisory memoranda.
- Manage corporate filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and liaise with other regulatory bodies.
- Provide comprehensive support for company secretarial duties, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters.
- Participate actively in client meetings, prepare briefing notes, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in due diligence exercises and coordinate transaction documentation efficiently.
- Must be duly called to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
- Possess 2 to 3 years of proven post-call experience in a corporate or commercial law practice.
- Demonstrate exceptional drafting, analytical, and legal research capabilities.
- Show a genuine and clear interest in non-litigation, transactional legal work.
- Exhibit high levels of professionalism, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Must reside in Calabar, Cross River State, and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
