About the Role
Alaro City is a mixed-income, city-scale development featuring commercial spaces, logistics hubs, residential areas, and extensive open spaces in Nigeria. We are seeking a dynamic Legal and Compliance Manager to join our growing team, provide expert guidance on complex transactions, and ensure robust corporate governance across all operations.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, commercial agreements, real estate transactions, construction contracts, and financing documents.
- Identify potential legal and regulatory risk factors for new and existing projects, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
- Support company secretarial functions, including statutory filings, updating corporate records, and preparing comprehensive board materials and minutes.
- Monitor Nigerian legislation and advise management on the operational impact of new and existing laws.
- Oversee compliance audits, track regulatory remediation issues, and update internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and deliver staff training sessions on critical compliance topics, including anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, and conflict of interest.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop legal and compliance associates while collaborating on departmental resource management.
- Minimum of 15 years of core legal experience, with strong technical expertise in real estate, infrastructure, utilities, and commercial law.
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar with active practicing status.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, company secretarial duties, and regulatory compliance within Nigeria.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
