About the Role
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the leading anti-graft agency in Nigeria, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Legal Officer. In this vital role, you will contribute directly to the nation's mandate of preventing, investigating, and prosecuting economic and financial crimes while upholding the rule of law and maintaining institutional integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of economic and financial crime cases in court.
- Review investigative reports and provide sound legal advice to support ongoing operations.
- Draft legal documents, briefs, motions, and contracts on behalf of the Commission.
- Ensure strict compliance with national laws, regulations, and international standards related to financial crimes.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and investigators to build robust evidentiary cases.
- Must be a Nigerian citizen of good character and proven integrity.
- Possess a recognized degree in Law and a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Membership in a relevant professional association such as the Nigerian Bar Association is an added advantage.
- Possess basic computer skills and proficiency in legal research software.
- Must be medically fit with documentation from a government-approved hospital, have no criminal record, and bear no tattoos.
