About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our academic community as a Lecturer III in the English Language department. As a member of our esteemed School of Liberal Studies, you will play a vital role in shaping the communication skills and intellectual growth of the next generation of professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in English Language to undergraduate students across various programmes.
- Design, update, and evaluate course curricula and instructional materials to meet current educational standards.
- Conduct impactful academic research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in department and school meetings, academic committees, and institutional events.
- Mentor and advise students on academic performance, career paths, and personal development.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, assignments, and practical research work.
- Contribute to institutional accreditation exercises and community development initiatives.
- Master’s degree in English Language or a closely related discipline, along with at least two (2) published conference or seminar papers.
- Alternatively, a good Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline, accompanied by at least three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience and two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Serving Assistant Lecturers who have completed at least three (3) years of satisfactory service and presented two (2) conference or seminar papers are also eligible to apply.
